Press Release: Environmental Groups, New Administration Officials, and Members of Congress Among Those to Gather at the Environmental and Clean Energy Inaugural Ball

Getting to the Ball

Dear Environmental Inaugural Ball Guests:

All guest and VIP tickets are Will Call at the event with an ID.

As many of you know, transportation logistics to the event the evening to the Ball may create some longer than anticipated trips. This is the first time the government has closed many bridges and roads – before, during, and after the Inaugural events. As a result, the information about these closures is changing, not exactly clear, and not in our control. Please take time to click on this link (and check it often) for more information and transportation issues and ideas for the best way to reach the district for the Inauguration and our Ball. Most roads and bridges are closed through 7pm on Jan. 20th - if not all the way through January 21st.

However, as of January 13, 2009 we ANTICPATE the roads north of Georgetown leading into the city will be open, the roads in front of the Sequoia, while closed for street parking, will be open, and the Sequoia garage will also be open. HOWEVER, getting to the roads near the Sequoia and its garage will be problematic and experience very heavy traffic. The Foggy Bottom metro is about a 10 minute walk from the Sequoia. The Metro will be open late and taxi cabs will be running in DC, but will be very busy. We apologize for any inconvenience, and we hope you have a safe and low carbon trip to the Ball.

Sequoia

The Sequoia Restaurant is located in the Georgetown Harbour at 3000 K Street, NW in Washington, DC. There are three entrances to the Sequoia: front entrance off K Street and through the parking garage.
